Exploring the Availability and Potential of International Data for Criminological Study

Abstract Despite advances in recent decades to internationalize criminology, one major roadblock that is often mentioned the difficulty collecting and obtaining high-quality international cross-cultural data. More than ever, there a growing amount of data covering wide variety topics relevant understanding crime. Visible accessible can open up channels for dialogue collaboration between cultures regions, as well opportunities test, refine, develop theoretical empirical knowledge. This paper therefore aims make ‘world data’ out more visible not only shed light on potential research collaboration, but highlight growing, rich body knowledge already exists.
